Amazon's Customer Packaging Experience Laboratory is seeking a Senior Lab Technician to join our customer-obsessed team supporting global sustainability goals out of Sumner, WA.
The CPEX Lab team is responsible for testing packages in accordance with documented laboratory processes that simulate the Amazon fulfillment network.
The team is also responsible for reviewing 3rd party test reports from ... other labs, recording test results, and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders regarding testing.
These tests are part of the Frustration Free Packaging Program, and help Amazon validate when a product can be safely shipped without the need for additional packaging.
This position is within the Worldwide Advanced Technology organization and the work directly impacts global packaging automation and waste reduction goals, in support of Amazon's commitment to the Climate Pledge.
Packaging Lab Technicians also support other various packaging and sustainability requests, including travel to fulfillment centers and corporate offices.

A Senior Lab Technician not only knows and uses available tools, but has the ability to invent solutions and simplify processes based on feedback from internal users.
They also possess the ability to tackle complex tasks for internal and external customers while receiving limited guidance.
Additionally, a Senior Lab Tech will own onboarding plans, seek in-depth knowledge across diverse lab-wide procedures and projects, and assist in developing lab tools that support CPEX's evolving needs.
Responsibilities:
Strike a balance between ownership and delegation to complete prototype development, packaging testing, and review of 3rd-party test results Invent and simplify a variety of systems and tools to increase productivity of lab team Lead lab process improvement from brainstorming discussions to change management and rollout Provide packaging feedback and guidance to other Amazon teams and external parties Manage projects with limited guidance and varied tasks simultaneously Maintain and promote safety within the Lab Ownership over preventative maintenance for lab equipment Develop onboarding plans and SOPs Supporting internal teams with project launches and trials, including out-of-state travel, up to 50%.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
