Scope of Responsibilities ... • Act as the main point of contact for packaging specification and assembly instruction development.
• Maintain, improve and upgrade existing packaging specifications and documents.
• Assist the Packaging Team with the design, development and commercialization of new packages, line extensions and package improvements.
• Assist with productivity projects that include package redesign, component consolidation, and production line efficiencies.
• Help the Packaging Engineers with packaging line trials, distribution testing, and package performance testing for new and existing products.
• Partner and contributor on cross-functional teams
• Work with Plant Operations, Suppliers and Co-packers to assure packaging components are of high quality and meet our specifications.

The primary focus of the Packaging Technician at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is to develop and maintain packaging specifications, assembly instructions and other documentation. This position will work with the Packaging Engineers, co-manufacturing groups and vendors to create and provide documents for the Packaging Engineering Team. This role also assists the Packaging Engineers with plant trials, ship testing and packaging development.
Specific Knowledge & Skills
• Bachelors Degree
• 0-5 years experience in consumer products or related industry

• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Required to regularly sit
• Must be able to work seated or standing for at least 8 hours
• Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail
• Works in a regular office environment
• Some work in a production environment
• Occasional local travel required
• Detail oriented
• Ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date records and databases
Salary: $64,190 to $81,150
