The primary function of this position will be to be the main point of contact for patients that are calling in to the practice to discuss their balances, collect payments over the phone, set up payment plans, etc. This person will communicate with patients, and coworkers, and practice leadership by answering a busy telephone queue, emails, chat messages, and TEAMs messages to assist with any questions regarding balances, billing, collections and reimbursement. This candidate must have a comfort level the provide a thorough explanation of benefits to patients, and properly explains reasoning behind balances and collections.
Required skills and qualifications
Technical skills:
Proficiency with medical billing and electronic health record (EHR) software.
Understanding of medical coding systems like CPT and ICD-10.
Familiarity with claim forms, such as CMS-1500 and UB-04.
Soft skills:
Strong verbal and written communication for interacting with patients, co-workers, and practice leadership.
Exceptional organizational and attention to detail.
Problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve billing discrepancies.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Education and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in medical billing or a related field is a plus.
Pay Scale: The hourly pay range for this position is $17.50-$25.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
