Position Summary
The CDS Program Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting Financial Management Services (FMS) processes within the Client Directed Services department. This position supports quality assurance efforts, manages annual renewal paperwork, assists with system workflows, and collaborates with internal departments and external partners.
This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with program guidelines and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate CDS program details to participants, representatives, vendors, and county personnel.
- Promote and maintain timely services and a strong customer-focused culture.
- Work independently and make informed decisions based on DHS rules, CDS program requirements, and county guidelines.
- Assist the Continuous Improvement team with workflow processes and quality assurance.
- Process Service Agreements into internal systems.
- Manage participant program closure processes.
- Update databases for new enrollments and changes.
- Support monthly and annual renewal requirements for FMS programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Assist with annual special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma required;
- 3 years of customer service or direct client service experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-based office software.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background check.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work involves extended periods of sitting and standard clerical tasks.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions.
