Job Overview
PlanetArt is seeking a Head of Product Development, Web to own the strategy, execution, and evolution of our consumer-facing web platforms across multiple brands.
This is a technically grounded product leadership role focused on scalable ecommerce platforms, backend-integrated systems, analytics instrumentation, and performance at scale.
Product leaders in this role are accountable for the end-to-end customer experience, owning the full journey from site discovery through product exploration, purchase, fulfillment, and delivery. This includes ensuring the physical product delivered matches customer expectations set on the site and that delivery timing aligns with promised arrival windows. The role requires holistic ownership across acquisition, user experience, platform performance, operational dependencies, and post-purchase touchpoints.
This is not a UX-only or roadmap-only role. Candidates must have direct experience shipping and scaling revenue-critical web platforms.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates much be local to or willing to relocate to the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Own the web product development strategy and translate business priorities into a technically executable roadmap.
- Lead the planning, build, launch, and optimization of large-scale web platforms across multiple brands.
- Act as the primary product partner to web and platform engineering, collaborating on architecture and delivery tradeoffs.
- Drive product decisions across ecommerce flows, personalization, content management, performance, and reliability.
- Ensure tight integration between frontend experiences, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Own the full web customer lifecycle, including discovery, checkout, fulfillment communication, and delivery experience.
- Ensure product experiences accurately reflect product quality, customization options, pricing, and delivery expectations.
- Define and own analytics strategy, including instrumentation, validation, and insight generation.
- Partner with operations and fulfillment teams to align platform capabilities with execution realities.
- Lead high-impact initiatives with accountability for outcomes.
- Mentor product leaders and raise technical and execution standards.
- Own platform modernization and deprecation decisions.
What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
- 5+ years of product leadership experience with significant ownership of web-based ecommerce platforms.
- Demonstrated experience scaling consumer-facing, transaction-heavy web systems.
- Strong technical fluency in modern web architectures and frameworks, backend services and API-driven systems, cloud infrastructure and scalability concepts and analytics instrumentation and data quality.
- Proven ability to challenge technical assumptions and partner deeply with engineering
- Experience operating in performance- and revenue-sensitive environments
- Strong decision-making and communication skills.
Not a fit if you
- Experience is primarily enterprise B2B, CDP, CRM, or MarTech platforms.
- Web work has been limited to CMS, marketing, or frontend-only experiences.
- Cannot explain how analytics data is collected and validated.
- Have not owned revenue-critical checkout or fulfillment flows

- This is a hybrid position; employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).
The compensation range for this position is $180,000-$250,000 annual salary + bonus.
