Job Overview
PlanetArt is seeking a Head of Product Development, Mobile to own the strategy, execution, and technical direction of our native iOS and Android applications across multiple brands.
This is a highly technical product leadership role. The successful candidate will operate as a true partner to mobile engineering leadership, with the depth to evaluate technical tradeoffs, challenge assumptions, and drive execution across architecture, analytics, performance, and scalability.
Product leaders in this role are accountable for the end-to-end customer experience, owning the full journey from initial app discovery through product creation, purchase, fulfillment, and delivery. This includes ensuring that the physical product meets or exceeds customer expectations and that delivery timing aligns with promised and expected arrival windows. The role requires holistic thinking across acquisition, user experience, platform performance, operations, and post-purchase touchpoints to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience across the entire customer lifecycle.
This is not a strategy-only, UX-only, or stakeholder-only role. Candidates must have direct experience shipping and scaling native mobile products in complex ecommerce environments.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates much be local to or willing to relocate to the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the mobile product development strategy, translating business goals into a technically executable roadmap.
- Lead the planning, build, launch and iteration of native iOS and Android features across multiple brands.
- Act as the primary product counterpart to mobile engineering, partnering on architecture decisions, sequencing and delivery tradeoffs.
- Ensure mobile features integrate cleanly with backend services, APIs, analytics pipelines and ecommerce systems.
- Own the end-to-end mobile customer journey, including discovery, onboarding, product creation, checkout, fulfillment visibility and delivery experience.
- Ensure mobile experiences accurate set expectations for product quality, customization, pricing and delivery timelines.
- Define and own mobile KPIs across conversion, retention, reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee analytics instrumentation ensuring accurate event tracking, validation and actionable insights.
- Partner with operations, manufacturing and fulfillment teams to align product promises with real-world execution
- Lead high-impact initiatives from concept through launch, with accountability for measurable outcomes.
- Mentor and develop product leaders, raising execution discipline and technical fluency.
- Maintain ownership across the full product lifecycle, including feature deprecation and platform evolution.
What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
- 5+ years of product leadership experience with significant focus on native mobile product development.
- Demonstrated experience shipping and scaling native iOS and Android applications in consumer ecommerce environments.
- Strong technical fluency in native mobile architecture and release management, backend service dependencies and API-driven systems, analytics instrumentation and data validation and performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Proven ability to partner deeply with engineering and evaluate technical tradeoffs.
- Experience operating in complex ecommerce funnels involving payments, personalization, and fulfillment.
- Strong judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
Not a fit if you
- Have primarily led UX, strategy, or roadmap planning without deep technical engagement.
- Have not worked closely with native mobile engineering teams.
- Cannot explain backend dependencies, analytics instrumentation, or mobile architecture decisions.
- Have experience limited to highly constrained or non-standard platforms.

- This is a hybrid position; employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).
The compensation range for this position is $180,000 - $250,000 annual salary + bonus.
