Our Location
Energy Trust provides a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The person in this role would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.
What We’re Looking For:
Under the general supervision of the Lead Business Systems Analyst, the Business Systems Analyst - Finance leads and performs requirements elicitation, analysis, testing and implementation of Energy Trust’s new Enterprise Financial System, and will remain the main support for maintenance, troubleshooting and future enhancements after project completion.
The Business Systems Analyst - Finance serves as an integral part of the IT Department and, as such, may be called upon to perform other IT duties in addition to those detailed here.
This individual reports to the Lead Business Systems Analyst.
This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly at a minimum for all staff and other in-person meetings.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze and document current-state and future-state Finance business processes, system functionality, integrations and data flows supporting Accounting, Compliance, Auditing and Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
- Partner closely with Finance stakeholders to elicit, clarify and validate requirements, analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Translate Finance business requirements into functional and technical requirements that support system configuration, integration and reporting design.
- Function as primary Business Systems Analyst for our Enterprise Financial System Implementation Project, supporting requirements definition, solution design, configuration decisions and testing activities.
- Collaborate with Business Systems Team and implementation partners to ensure solutions can continue to integrate with our most critical business systems.
- Lead creation and management of user stories and tasks in Azure DevOps or similar Agile project tracking tool.
- Automate business processes and workflows by integrating with various systems and services to enable seamless data flow and task automation.
- Manages small to medium projects using a standard project management methodology.
- Tests and deploys system changes in non-prod environments, collaborates with Product Owner and end users.
- Maintains accurate documentation on applications, data structures, queries, and reports.
- Performs proactive application administration and maintenance tasks to keep assigned applications functioning efficiently and effectively.
- Leads and performs root cause analysis of application outages, defects and issues. Troubleshoot system, database statements and understands the full application lifecycle.
- Responds to user issues and finds solutions to resolve issues.
- Carries out other duties as assigned or requested.

What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems from an accredited college or university; or equivalent professional experience in the information technology field.
- Minimum three years of previous experience as a business systems analyst or similar role, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in systems, data and business analysis and systems testing.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience providing software-related customer support and training to a non-technical user base.
- Demonstrated ability to verbally, and in writing, communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
- Experience managing small to medium sized projects using agile methodologies.
- Experience leading or supporting an ERP/EFS implementation, including requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, training, and go‑live support
- Demonstrated experience writing and maintaining SQL queries to validate system behavior and outputs, and to troubleshoot application issues and data discrepancies
- Working understanding of relational databases and query logic, and data models, hierarchies and reference data used by financial platforms.
- Experience building test plans, test scripts, and executing system and integration testing
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work off-hours and extended hours as needed to support IT processes and timelines.
- Customer service skills and experience. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.
