Overview
A growing laboratory site is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Assistant to support sample preparation and daily lab operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong attention to detail, steady work history, and interest in hands-on lab work. Ideal for someone who enjoys physical, task-oriented work and wants long-term stability in a lab environment.
Responsibilities Weigh incoming samples accurately in an aseptic environment
Perform sample enrichment by preparing nutrient broths
Line plates with samples (trained last—most technical task)
Support general laboratory operations, including:
Retrieving samples from Sample Control
Performing routine sample preparation (aliquoting, spiking, reagent prep, bottle prep, concentration prep, liquid rack setup)
Ensuring samples are properly labeled and documented
Recording analysis results and maintaining bench sheets, logbooks, and tracking tools
Wash and prepare lab glassware for next-day samples
Stock lab supplies and maintain clean working areas
Follow all SOPs, quality guidelines, and safe handling procedure
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
0–2 years of experience
Experience in physical, hands-on roles (standing, repetitive motions)
Shared service or warehouse industry experience strongly preferred—these backgrounds have historically been the most successful
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
Ability to work independently, stay motivated, and complete tasks without micromanagement
Basic verbal and written communication skills
Basic ability to document, record, and manage time effectively
BONUS: Any prior experience plating samples or working with food, environmental, or clinical samples
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
