Responsibilities.
This role will be varied and have a broad scope of responsibility, but if we were to narrow it down to six major categories, they would be:
- Prepare more complex financial statements and able to analyze and identify any errors or omissions made by clients
- Fully researches issues and presents pertinent guidance in support of suggested alternatives
- Displays full proficiency in the areas of accounts payable management, accounts receivable management, payroll and sales tax issues related to recording and reconciling into books as applicable to the engagement assigned.
- Assists client and others in resolving problems related to systems or software
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and pilot new tools and engage in training on automation and AI tools as they are introduced.
- Develop AI literacy (prompt design, validation, exception handling).
What makes you a fit for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from four-year college or university is required. Five+ years related experience required; wine industry exposure preferred. Experience in a large local/regional or national accounting firm is desirable.
- Experience with maintaining client relationships in a professional services environment is preferred.
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification is required (or commitment to obtain within two months of employment); experience with QuickBooks desktop version also required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with the process of wine costing
- Experience with one or more of the following wine industry software platforms is strongly preferred; InnoVint, Orderport, Commerce 7, VinTrace, WineDirect
- Proactive, effective English verbal and written communication skills are required
- Strong computer skills including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, etc. is required
- Must travel to client sites as needed (travel time is approximately 10% local travel; 5% out of market)
- Experience in a large local/regional or national CPA firm is strongly preferred
Compensation and benefits:
- Salary range is $80K-$95K annually, varying DOE. Compensation may be adjusted for those who live in areas with a higher cost of labor than Portland, OR
