As a Network Engineer Tech Lead at our research campus in Mountain View, CA, you will be at the forefront of architecting modern network solutions that keep our teams connected and our business moving forward.

You’ll design and optimize network infrastructures, implement cutting-edge security standards, and mentor the next generation of network professionals—all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, enterprise-grade connectivity.
As the Network Engineer Tech Lead, you will be focusing on these key responsibilities:
- Enterprise Network Design & Implementation: Architect and deploy secure, scalable wireless and wired networks across corporate offices, campuses, and remote sites, including site surveys, AP/controller configuration, and performance optimization.
- Security & Compliance: Establish and enforce network security standards (WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS), ensure compliance with industry regulations (PCI-DSS, HIPAA), and proactively detect and mitigate threats such as rogue APs.
- Project & Team Mentorship: Drive large-scale network initiatives (upgrades, redesigns, new deployments), collaborate across IT teams for seamless integration, and mentor engineers while maintaining documentation and operational readiness.
Location: This is a 100% onsite role in Mountain View, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performing networks for enterprise corporate offices, campuses, and remote sites.
- Conduct wireless site surveys (predictive and physical) using tools like Ekahau or AirMagnet.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and tuning of wireless access points (APs), controllers, routers, switches and related infrastructure (e.g., Aruba, Cisco).
- Develop and implement Wi-Fi security standards, including WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS integration, and rogue AP detection.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and usage to identify and resolve coverage issues and bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with other network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless connectivity and integration.
- Lead or support large-scale projects, including upgrades, redesigns, and new deployments.
- Expert understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.
- Maintain and update documentation: network diagrams, SOPs, and topology maps.
- Provide mentorship to junior network engineers and assist with technical training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical outages or performance incidents.
- Business travel: 5% domestic.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering with at least 3 years focused on enterprise networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking solutions (Wi-Fi, routers, switches, data center, etc.).
- Proficient in wireless standards and technologies: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, MIMO, beamforming, channel planning.
- Familiar with authentication methods such as RADIUS, EAP, and Active Directory integration.
- Skilled in using Wi-Fi tools like Ekahau, NetSpot, Wireshark, and spectrum analyzers.
- Understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, QoS, etc.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or other relevant certifications
- Cisco or HPE Wireless (e.g., CCNP Wireless)
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP)
- Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer (ECSE)
