We’re hiring a vertical lead to drive relationships, delivery, and growth across the defense industry.
The Role:
This role sits at the intersection of business development, customer success, and strategy—ideal for someone who understands the defense ecosystem and can quarterback engagements from introduction to execution. You’ll advance day-to-day pipeline activity, working closely with product managers to expand with existing customers and identify new opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with customers
- Drive post-sales growth while identifying new business opportunities
- Coordinate with engineering and product teams to ensure successful deployments
- Track and influence procurement cycles, contracts, and technology pilots
- Represent Code Metal in key defense and dual-use technology forums
- Serve as a thought partner to company leadership, mapping opportunities and helping shape strategic direction

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in defense business development, capture, or delivery roles
- Strong network within DoD, primes, defense tech, or mission-tech ecosystems
- Demonstrated success managing complex programs or partnerships
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- US Citizen required (clearance preferred)
- Remote OK
- Pay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range
