Job Summary: The Quality Supervisor leads and manages the quality assurance department to ensure the highest standards of quality are met throughout the production process. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures, overseeing a team of inspectors and technicians, and collaborating with other departments to address and resolve quality issues. The Quality Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of quality control inspectors and technicians.
- Schedule and oversee daily quality control activities, including inspections and testing.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Quality Management and Control:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor and inspect products at various stages of production to ensure they meet specifications.
- Analyze data to identify trends, recurring quality issues, and areas for improvement.
- Problem Solving and Improvement:
- Investigate and address customer complaints and internal quality-related issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and projects to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Documentation and Auditing:
- Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation, including test plans, protocols, and reports.
- Prepare and present quality reports for management and other departments.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality concerns and integrate quality standards into all processes.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
Qualifications and Skills:- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related technical field is often preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control).
- Proficiency with quality control software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
