Position Overview
Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as Director, Nutrition Affairs, advancing the dairy community’s commitment to health, wellness, and sustainable nutrition. This role will champion science-based communications and stakeholder engagement efforts that highlight the contributions of dairy foods to public health and sustainable food systems.
Reporting to Senior Vice President, Nutrition Affairs, the Director will lead and support initiatives that build trust, foster collaboration, and amplify the voice of America’s dairy farmers through meaningful partnerships with health and wellness thought leaders, professional organizations, and scientific communities.
This role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office, and two days remote. We are unable to offer relocation assistance or visa sponsorship for this position.

NDC’s staff of registered dietitians, researchers, and nutrition educators communicate about dairy’s contributions to health and sustainable food systems.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement and Program Management
· Lead and/or support engagement strategies and educational collaborations with health and wellness thought leaders and professional organizations.
· Develop and execute strategic collaborations, roundtables, briefings, and events that advance dairy’s role in health and sustainability.
· Provide input on relationship goals and guide productive dialogue to achieve shared outcomes.
Content Development & Communication
· Translate complex nutrition and sustainability science into compelling, audience-specific content.
· Collaborate with subject matter experts and communications colleagues to develop materials and content that support stakeholder engagement and amplify dairy’s value.
Representation
· Represent the dairy community at national conferences, convenings, and strategic partner events.
· Serve as a trusted resource for DMI and NDC, articulating dairy’s contributions to health and sustainable food systems.
Skills & Competencies
· Project Management & Execution: Proven ability to lead and/or support projects from concept to completion, with strengths in stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and creative event planning.
· Scientific Communication: Skilled in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
· Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and fluency in digital platforms.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and independently, contributing to shared goals.
· Resource & Vendor Management: Experience overseeing external partners and agencies and managing resources to ensure quality and efficiency.
· Team Culture & Engagement: Actively contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment by sharing ideas, supporting peers, and modeling accountability.
· Professional Development & Industry Engagement: Committed to ongoing growth through active participation in professional associations, networks, and conferences, fostering leadership and external visibility.
New Hire Salary Range -- $99,000-$120,000 annually. This is a salary range that DMI believes, at the time of this posting, that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location specified.
Qualifications
· Registered Dietitian (RD) certification preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in health, wellness, or nutrition-related roles within business, agency, retail, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
· Foundational knowledge of nutrition, health, and sustainable food systems.
· Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management preferred.
· Travel required for key business needs (up to 25%)
