As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our engineering organization, helping to define how humans collaborate with intelligent systems. This is a pivotal role where you'll lead critical system rewrites, architect scalable foundations for our AI platform, and establish the technical standards that will shape our engineering culture for years to come.
What You'll Do
- Lead critical system rewrites to build a highly scalable architecture.
- Work closely with the product team to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
- Architect and build advanced systems for our LLM-based AI leasing agent.
- Create intelligent configuration interfaces that allow our AI to adapt to customer needs.
- Design and implement integration frameworks to connect our AI with customer systems.
- Establish modern engineering practices and infrastructure for an AI-first product.
- Implement robust analytics to measure and improve our AI's effectiveness.
- Lead the development of innovative features that push the boundaries of AI in real estate.
- Mentor engineers and elevate the team's capabilities with LLM technologies.
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- Experience working with LLMs or AI systems at scale is highly valuable.
- Strong expertise in both frontend (React, TypeScript) and backend (Node.js) development.
- Proven track record of building scalable, production-grade systems.
- Strong understanding of API development, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of balancing technical innovation with pragmatic delivery.
- Willingness to interact directly with customers to understand their needs.
- This is a remote role, with a strong preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area who can work West Coast hours.
- Salary: $200k - $230k
- Equity: Competitive equity in a venture-backed company with strong traction.
