Schedule
This position is full time. 40 hours, 4-5 days per week including some weekends. We have early and late shifts available.
Role
The role of the Billing Specialist is to perform many accounting, vender tasks to promote the financial health of the company.
Technical Responsibilities
- Searching each billing statement for any payment inconsistencies or errors
- Collaborate with haulers, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors (this includes but is not limited to: making phone calls, emailing, chatting, online meetings, using hauler portals, etc.).
- Request tonnage, extra days, trip charges, missing invoices from haulers (this includes but is not limited to: making phone calls, emailing, online meetings, chatting, using hauler portals, etc.)
- Verifying pricing from haulers on invoices matches our system
- Inputting payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into an individual account
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Paying hauler accounts and documenting money received
- Helping to reconcile accounts
- Documenting money received from customers (if they pay anything by check or drop off money at the bank)
- Calculating and generating various company accounting reports
- Review customer order and select a hauler to award the work to based on the company policy
- Maintain accurate information on the performance of haulers
- Coordinate dumpster rental directly with hauler and ensure all details are correct in advance of rental delivery
- Provide feedback to team leader if issues arise that are recurring
- Collaborate with other team members as necessary to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate and organized records at all times
- Provide suggestions to management team to improve company operating procedures as necessary
