Position Summary
The Financial Service Representative is responsible for working with students who are past due with their payments. The position requires the ability to ask/probe for payment while providing high quality service to our students. This representative must be professional and willing to work as a team player within a high performance, metric-driven area. The Financial Service Representative will work in a blended phone environment receiving inbound calls and handling dialer calls via auto-dialer campaigns.
Essential Job Functions
- Collect on past due accounts via inbound/dialer campaigns
- Probe for payment/process payment or attempt to secure payment
- Use appropriate call disposition to ensure proper revenue classification
- Handle a high volume of calls via inbound/dialer campaigns
- Provide a thorough review of past due status; potential hold on account, additional fees and collection agency risk
- Update student records and maintenance student accounts
- Adhere to department policies and procedures designed to measure and reward performance
- Provide feedback and suggestions to management team
- Perform other duties as business conditions warrant
- Interact with other departments as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Education: High School diploma or GED required
Experience: Collections or Customer Service experience preferred
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, Microsoft outlook, demonstrated competency handling high volume of inbound and dialer calls
Other requirements: Proper phone etiquette, strong communication skills, active listening, problem solving skills, self-motivation, goal-oriented, excellent attendance record
