Overview:
Join our team as a Provider Relations Representative, where you will provide exceptional customer service remotely, supporting our claims team and addressing provider inquiries. Your role will involve verifying benefits and claims status for medical claims, along with various other tasks and projects assigned by management to support the company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and tickets related to eligibility, benefits, claims, and service authorizations from providers.
- Administer intake documentation into appropriate systems.
- Deliver outstanding service to internal and external customers, aiming to resolve member and provider needs on the first call.
- Meet or exceed operations production and quality standards, handling calls and processing inquiries accurately.
- Resolve customer service or billing complaints with sound judgment, contacting customers regarding complex inquiries and claim investigations.
- Address customer administrative concerns, including claim resolutions, referring unresolved grievances to designated departments.
- Actively listen and professionally probe callers to determine the purpose of calls, keeping detailed records of interactions.
- Research and communicate information about member eligibility, benefits, services, claim status, and authorizations while maintaining confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Proactively seek ongoing training for self-development and career progression.
- Perform follow-up tasks to ensure provider needs are met.
- Support team members and participate in team activities to build a high-performance team.
- Document customer comments and forward necessary information to the appropriate staff.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ year of work experience in a healthcare setting
- Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute
- Proficient in using a 10-key by touch
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Basic understanding of financial accounting or accounts receivable functions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Resourceful in obtaining necessary information from various websites
- Experience with insurance companies for issue resolution and escalations
- Adaptability in using multiple software programs
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in medical billing and/or client service
- Medical billing experience is required
- Experience in acupuncture billing a plus
Additional Information:
- Initial training schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM EST
- Post-training schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 6 PM EST
- Hourly rate negotiable based on experience
