Summary:
The Home Loan Consultant Program is a training pathway to becoming a customer focused Loan Advisor and sales professional within the Call Center department. Employees will provide high quality service by assisting potential and current customers in selecting the best mortgage options and taking ownership to resolve problems and meet customer needs upon successfully obtaining the necessary state mortgage originator licenses. Home Loan Consultant is a customer focused, inside sales position within the Call Center. Home Loan Consultants are responsible for both inbound and outbound calls through various marketing tactics, where providing financial solutions and excellent customer service to customers is top priority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Passing SAFE exam, obtaining the required state mortgage originator licenses.
- Obtaining and or/ maintaining applicable state and NMLS licensure, or renewing your NMLS license within the time period determined and communicated to you by the Company.
- Analyzes applicant information to determine whether the customer qualifies for a beneficial loan program.
- Assists customers in discussing financial objectives and goals and, once licensed will take the initial loan application.
- Clearly communicates the loan program terms and benefits available to the customer as well as the loan process.
- Ensures all required documents are returned and disclosures are signed in a timely manner.
- Follows our sales process and QA requirements to remain compliant.
- Continually meets and/or exceeds the Sales KPI’s set by Management.
- Is responsive to customers’ needs and expectations.
- Has excellent communication skills and is clear, concise, and professional when speaking with customers.
- Is eager to develop knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.

- Maintains a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Requires flexible scheduling (weekends and late nights).
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is an individual contributor with no direct reports and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- At least one (1) year of mortgage sales experience working as bank loan officer or in similar role
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Home Loan Consultant must pass the NMLS SAFE exam within the first 30 days of this role.
Work Complexity:
Problems and issues faced are difficult and complex and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues and understanding of the financial/mortgage industry. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
