Job Summary
The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering will play a key part in driving and leading operational improvements as Blackline Safety expands, providing local leadership to implement and maintain the operational gains achieved through continuous improvement, and in accelerating continuous improvement projects. Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering, you will coordinate the local Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing Test, and Manufacturing Repair teams. The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for ensuring the factory is technically capable of on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery of product. They will engage cross-functionally with all aspects of local manufacturing, from incoming materials all the way though manufacturing and service, and will work with multiple disciplines focused on the daily productivity, quality, and capacity improvement activities required to sustain rapid growth and support localization of new products.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop cross-functional team with matrix reporting structure responsible for factory manufacturing capacity, yield, and productivity, and act as a champion for continuous improvement activities
- Engage with Product Development, Quality, and other disciplines to ensure root-cause analyses and resolution of issues in product or process are completed
- Lead initiatives to bring in new technologies and oversee capital projects to deliver gains in productivity, capacity, efficiency, and quality
- Support manufacturing readiness and required technical staffing needs for localization of new product introduction launches
- Drive standardization and improvement in cross-site manufacturing process and capabilities
- Manage development of documentation, procedures, and processes to standardize and improve manufacturing operations, and champion development of change management structure
- Create new organizational structures and policies to develop organizational maturity and support organizational development initiatives
- Oversee and coordinate development, maintenance, and improvements to existing product manufacturing methods, equipment, software, and documentation
- Investigate and find root cause of product test failures and drive resolution to improve product yield, quality, and throughput
Required skills
- Exceptional understanding of modern circuit board assembly test methodologies
- Proven success in leadership roles in manufacturing test development and operations project management
- Thorough knowledge of electronics and assembly industry best-practices
- Ability to rapidly prioritize and balance conflicting priorities
- Exceptional ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated success leading Lean Manufacturing kaizen projects delivering significant operational gains
- Six Sigma accreditation and the ability to mentor others in effective use of these tools and best practices
- Experience with gas detection and radio technologies are assets
- Data acquisition and analysis experience using databases is an asset
- 10+ years experience in electronics manufacturing and test in a mid-to-high volume manufacturing environment, with preference given to candidates with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma accreditation
- Demonstrated successes in leading projects or programs that have delivered significant results to Operations performance
- Thorough knowledge of electronics and assembly industry best-practices
- Ability to rapidly prioritize and balance conflicting priorities
- Exceptional ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems involving multiple disciplines
