PCBA Troubleshooter

As we continue to launch new products on our in-house Surface Mount Technology (SMT) line, we are looking for a skilled PCBA Troubleshooter focused on electronics troubleshooting and improving product quality. Job Summary
The PCBA Troubleshooter will support our manufacturing floor where we assemble and manufacture all products for our customers worldwide. From supporting our circuit board manufacturing all the way though to manufacturing and service, the PCBA Troubleshooter will work closely with our Operations and Engineering teams and be focused on helping us improve quality every day by both repairing product and supporting initiatives to continuously improve manufacturing

- You are excited to work with electronics and have exceptional soldering and troubleshooting skills, backed by your technical certificate or diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology (or comparable) and 2-5 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing or repair environment
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work effectively in a rapidly growing and rapidly changing organization
- You hold quality paramount but understand how it fits into a fast-moving culture
- You are open-minded and passionate about problem-solving and understand that repairing product is only part of the journey of continuous improvement

Responsibilities
- Make decisions about PCBA product quality based on IPC standards
- Analyze defective PCBAs, troubleshoot, repair, and provide feedback to SMT or assembly lines to aid in creating corrective actions
- Track and report on modes of failure and suggest improvements to prevent future failures
- Engage with Process, Design, and SMT Engineering to support process improvements and address root cause of yield issues
- Work in an environment structured for continuous improvement and cycle time reductions
- Read and accurately interpret work instructions, procedures, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials
- Complete additional tasks as directed
Skills Required
- Certificate or Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
- Excellent soldering skills, being well-versed in industry electronics acceptability requirements (IPC, JIS, etc) and comfortable working with modern SMT package sizes
- Excellent electronics troubleshooting skills, with analog and digital circuits
- Strong ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
- Moderate experience in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with RF test, for cellular, GPS, and other bands is an asset, as is experience with gas detection
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment or Six Sigma certification is an asset

Steel-Toed Boots Requirement:
Candidates are required to wear steel-toed boots for this role to ensure safety compliance in the workplace. Applicants must have access to a pair of steel-toed boots prior to starting employment.
