About the Opportunity:
A rapidly growing education tech company is seeking a Counselor Operations Manager to lead the recruitment, onboarding, and operational management of a high-caliber team of college admissions counselors. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining a world-class team, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a strong community of counselors dedicated to supporting students' academic journeys.
Key Responsibilities:Counselor Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Identify and recruit top-tier counseling talent, including part-time, full-time, and contract (1099/W-2) professionals.
- Develop and maintain a high-quality talent pipeline using innovative sourcing methods such as LinkedIn, job boards, and direct outreach.
- Conduct initial screening, evaluate candidates for cultural and skill fit, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including negotiations and onboarding.
- Implement comprehensive onboarding and training programs to ensure a seamless integration into the organization’s standards of service.
Community Building & Retention:
- Cultivate a strong sense of community among counselors to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
- Implement effective retention strategies, manage performance feedback, and facilitate compensation adjustments.
- Foster a collaborative environment that aligns with business needs while promoting long-term commitment among the team.
Operational Management:
- Monitor and manage counselor performance using student feedback and ratings.
- Oversee functional and operational roles that support the counseling process.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, leveraging data-driven strategies to enhance efficiency.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding:
- Develop and execute strategic recruitment initiatives to attract top counseling talent in competitive markets.
- Act as a brand ambassador to communicate the organization's mission and values to potential candidates.
- Stay informed on industry trends and market dynamics to refine talent acquisition strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, operations, and recruitment—preferably in a fast-paced startup or education-focused environment.
- Strong track record of hiring candidates with prestigious academic and professional backgrounds.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while driving recruitment and operational success.
- Creative problem-solving skills and experience using ATS and recruitment tools.
