Role Summary
AIM Youth Mental Health is seeking a driven Executive Director (ED) to guide our next phase of growth. As our leader, you'll be the driving force behind our mission, shaping our strategic direction, overseeing operations, and cultivating vital partnerships. You'll work closely with our staff and advisors to amplify our impact, driving the research and adoption of evidence-based youth mental health solutions.
The ED will draw upon the following to ensure success:
- AIM Team: Dedicated, passionate team with experience in marketing, accounting, event planning, etc.
- Scientific Advisory Board: World-class mental health professionals with expertise in research and implementation
- Board of Directors: Collaborative and supportive Board with breadth of capabilities and donor network
- Founders: Engaged founders with passion, expertise, and fundraising track record
- Volunteers: Extensive network
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership. Provide visionary leadership to propel AIM's mission and objectives forward, ensuring all initiatives align with the organization’s core values and strategic goals. Oversee and guide the AIM team, ensuring effective management of their respective programs and responsibilities.
- Fundraising. Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support for our research and programs. Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, foundation partners, corporate sponsors, and other key stakeholders, while ensuring the organization’s financial health and long-term sustainability.
- Donor Relations. Serve as the primary liaison between AIM and its donors, effectively communicating the impact of our work, inspiring philanthropic support, and meeting in-person with donors as needed. Must be able to understand and articulate research findings in a compelling and engaging manner.
- Organizational Growth. Drive consistent and sustainable growth for the organization, expanding our reach and impact.
- Communication. Effectively convey our mission, vision, and impact to diverse audiences through various channels, including public speaking engagements, media appearances, and written communications.
- Board Management. Cultivate strong relationships with the Board of Directors, providing effective support, communication, and reporting while collaborating on a multi-year strategic plan.
Experience. 10+ years of relevant experience within the nonprofit/social sector, including 5+ years of senior leadership experience.
- Team leadership. Proven ability to lead and manage, diverse, high-performing teams, fostering an equitable and inclusive environment.
- Fundraising. Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships with major donors, foundation partners, and corporate grantmakers, securing significant financial support.
- Organizational growth & impact. Demonstrated capability leading teams to achieve and expand impact. Experience translating strategic vision to plans and action.
- Nonprofit governance & administration. Familiarity with nonprofit administration including budgeting, legal compliance, board governance, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.

Demonstrates a willingness to "roll up their sleeves” and actively participate in all aspects of the organization’s work, including strategic planning, cultivating donors, and day-to-day operations. Is comfortable working on a small team, filling gaps as needed, and readily adjusting priorities to meet evolving needs.

Compensation and Benefits: AIM offers competitive salaries and benefits relative to organizations of its size.
Salary Range: $175,000 – $225,000 per year
