Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho - Short Term Agreement - $50 - Nights at Norman Regional Health System summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in orthopedic care, responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic patients, including pre and post-operative care for surgeries such as hip and knee replacements. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, assessment and analysis of patient data, and the implementation of individualized care plans. The position is a short-term agreement covering 13 weeks with night shifts, aiming to deliver high-quality patient care in a certified orthopedic unit.

Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.
Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data.
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care.
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions.
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
Licensure/Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
