Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho - PRN III - Days at Norman Regional Health System summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ortho unit provides specialized care for orthopedic patients, including those undergoing hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle procedures. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementing nursing interventions, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A diploma or associate’s degree in nursing is required, along with relevant RN licensure and BLS certification.
Overview:
Compensation
- $42/hr
- Work 2 shifts/wk.
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.
Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data.
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care.
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions.
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
