As part of our Global Services team, reporting to the Director of Customer Success, Support, and Education, you will collaborate closely with the Education Content Lead and Knowledge Manager to create, enhance, and maintain documentation and training materials for the MindBridge AI platform.
Operating across multiple lines of business, the Technical Writer will be responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts in creating, maintaining, and evolving all user-facing product documentation for the MindBridge AI platform, including instructional guides, workflows, reference materials, infographics, release notes, and in-platform tutorials and copy.
The position is primarily remote-based with the flexibility to attend in-person at our Ottawa office.
In this role, you will:
- Plan, create and edit various forms of new and existing product documentation that is clear, concise, and compliant with documentation and quality assurance standards.
- Create, develop, and produce end-user/customer-facing training materials.
- Champion clarity and accuracy and recommend and implement new documentation methods and formats that serve and satisfy various customer requirements.
- Maintain MindBridge’s platform and knowledge base style guides and quality and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, UX designers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to continuously update and improve UI content and product documentation based on feedback and product changes.
- Create and edit visual content to enhance documentation.
- Assist customers in updating their internal technical guides to include MindBridge technical guidance as appropriate (i.e. match to customers’ requested format/style/etc. for technical copy).
Key skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field, or relevant experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in technical writing in the software development industry.
- At least 1 year of experience working in the accounting profession or otherwise possessing strong knowledge of how the accounting profession operates and an understanding of key accounting terms and concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment with a strong ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.
- Experience with information architecture and creating content models.
- Experience using a content management system (CMS) or similar knowledge management systems to create documentation.
- Proficiency in using Zendesk, SharePoint, Atlassian, and Microsoft Office for documentation management.
- Experience writing for accountants with experience in audit is considered a strong asset.
- Additional written language communication skills are an asset (French, Spanish or German).
- Authorization to work in Canada.
