Role Overview:
As a Data Annotator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of datasets that power AI models. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of machine learning systems by providing high-quality labelled data. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow guidelines precisely, and the capacity to work efficiently within a remote, collaborative environment.
We are seeking a Data Annotator to label, categorize, and enhance datasets that power our client’s AI models. Your work will play a crucial role in improving machine learning accuracy and AI-driven decision-making. This position is remote and requires availability to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Annotation & Labeling
- Accurately annotate and categorize large datasets, including text, images, audio, and video.
- Follow detailed guidelines to ensure data consistency and quality.
- Review and validate AI-generated annotations, making corrections where necessary.
- Work with proprietary and third-party annotation tools to enhance AI training datasets.
Quality Control & Data Validation
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and consistency in all data annotation tasks.
- Identify and flag inconsistencies or ambiguities in the data.
- Provide feedback on annotation guidelines to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to refine annotation workflows.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Suggest improvements to annotation guidelines and workflows based on hands-on experience.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on new AI models and annotation techniques.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align annotation tasks with project objectives.
- Help develop and refine documentation to streamline data labeling processes.
Who You Are:
- Detail-Oriented – You have a strong eye for accuracy and precision in data labeling.
- Tech-Savvy – Comfortable working with AI tools, annotation platforms, and digital interfaces.
- Analytical Thinker – Ability to spot patterns, inconsistencies, and anomalies in datasets.
- Process-driven – Capable of following complex guidelines with consistency.
- Adaptable & Fast Learner – Open to learning new technologies and annotation methods.
- Collaborative – Works well in a team environment and communicates effectively with engineers and data scientists.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in data annotation, data labeling, or transcription is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and AI training processes.
- Experience using annotation tools such as Labelbox, AWS SageMaker, or CVAT.
- Strong ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity.
- Basic understanding of Python, SQL, or data processing (preferred but not required).
