The Registered Nurse (RN) on Spinal Cord 2W specializes in providing care to patients with spinal cord injury, orthopedics, burns, and amputations, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation nursing services. Nurses are integral to designing and implementing treatment strategies, fostering a supportive environment that enhances patient recovery and quality of life.
Nurses on Unit 2W (Spinal Cord Injury) care for patients with a focus on spinal cord injury (SCI), orthopedics, burns, and amputees. The unit is the preferred site for SCI patients with flaps. Patients are admitted from out of state, outside hospitals, nursing homes, and homes. Nurses on 2 West have the have the opportunity of working with and caring for this specialized patient population along with other members of the interdisciplinary team for safe quality care. Team members include physicians, psychologists, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, wound and ostomy care nurses, social workers, and case managers.

The rehabilitation clinical nurse is a key member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered rehabilitation nursing services to individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. The rehabilitation clinical nurse assists patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for client's and their family's development. The rehabilitation clinical nurse designs and implements treatment strategies based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and promotes physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health. Rehabilitation Nurses perform in roles as Teachers, Caregivers, Collaborators and Client Advocates. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will add “Life to Years” for the patients you will serve.
ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level, required to enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of hire date and completion within 4 years of hire date.
This position has a hiring range of $37.50 - $54.92
