The Role
As an Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities for Bloomerang by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential nonprofit customers. You will leverage research, strategic outreach, and personalized messaging to connect with key decision-makers and set up qualified meetings for our Account Executives. What You Will Do
- Product Knowledge & Business Impact: Stay current on Bloomerang's one-giving platform, understanding how this will impact a nonprofits mission.
- Prospect & Engage: Identify and reach out to nonprofit organizations through strategic outbound efforts, including cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and personalized video messages.
- Generate Pipeline: Managing a 90 day pipeline of high-quality potential meetings. Qualify and set up meetings for our Account Executives with nonprofit leaders evaluating volunteer, donor management and fundraising solutions.
- Engage & Inspire: Make impactful first impressions by sharing compelling stories, case studies, and materials that showcase how Bloomerang can make a real difference for a nonprofit.
- Outreach & Qualification: Utilize a mix of outreach methods—including social media, email campaigns, and phone calls—to engage and qualify accounts.
- Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the Account Executive team, gaining valuable experience throughout the sales cycle while refining your skills and knowledge of sales processes.
- Goal Achievement: Consistently meet (and ideally exceed) your business development targets, contributing to Bloomergang's overall success.
- Data Management & CRM Use: Ensure the accurate maintenance of sales data and lead tracking through Salesforce, keeping a record of all interactions and progress.
What You Need to Succeed
- 6+ months of sales experience (SDR, BDR, or sales internship preferred) or a strong interest in SaaS sales.
- A passion for helping nonprofits and a desire to understand their challenges.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Resilience and persistence—you’re comfortable with rejection and see it as a learning opportunity.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills—both written and verbal.
- A curious and coachable mindset with a drive to continuously improve.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, 6Sense is a plus.

Compensation
As this is an incentive compensation role, there will be a base salary with annual on target earnings of $65,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, as well as applicable employment laws.
Location
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position. Employees living in Indianapolis, IN are welcome to work from our company headquarters. We do not offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.
