Registered Nurse- Mental Health /Primary Care at Boston Children's Hospital summary:
The Registered Nurse in Mental Health/Primary Care provides critical support in clinical responses, ensuring effective communication and coordination with medical staff and providers. This role focuses on managing patient care processes, including prescription renewals and complex case management, while also participating in quality improvement activities. The position requires at least one year of RN experience, with a strong preference for expertise in pediatric mental health and fluency in Spanish.
This Registered Nurse will be responsible for: Supporting clinical response to inter-visit patient requests, with triage to medical staff as indicated.
Communicating with internal and external providers (e g., pharmacies, school based nursing, pediatricians, medical specialists) with triage to medical staff as indicated.
Supporting a timely, efficient prescription renewal process including completion of prior authorizations in collaboration with medical and administrative staff.
Maintaining lab system review
Assisting providers with complex patient cases as indicated (specific follow up regarding patient/parent teaching, side effects, response to medication, compliance, etc.)
Vaccine Administration.
Performing specific Nursing assessments as needed.
Participating in departmental Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
To qualify, you must have: 1 year RN experience required. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Preferred experience is in pediatric mental health. Ability to rotate to Martha Eliot Health Center (Jamaica Plain) and Boston Children’s Primary Care Center (Longwood area of Boston) as needed. Work 30 hours/week Mon-Fri week. No weekends, no holidays. |
