Ourisman Travel is seeking an experienced Luxury Travel Advisor to help maintain and expand sales. This role provides a unique opportunity to join an award-winning, renowned luxury travel advisory within the dynamic luxury travel industry.
At Ourisman Travel, we are looking for an experienced Luxury Travel Advisor to handle, sell, and manage new trip requests under our Hotel Plus service. This role involves helping clients select the ideal destination and/or hotel for their trips, and providing post-booking concierge assistance to enhance their travel experience.
This role focuses on boosting sales through customized consultations and concierge support, and it’s designed to grow with the company, offering in-depth, long-term training to develop these specific skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep expertise in our three core services—Hotel Only, Hotel Plus, and Tailored Luxury—and lead our Hotel Plus service by charging fees, providing expert consultations, guiding clients to make informed decisions through accurate comparisons of destinations and hotels, finalizing hotel bookings to complete sales, and offering post-booking concierge support if required.
- Knowledge of luxury travel consortia, including Virtuoso, Preferred Partner, Rosewood Elite, Belmond Bellini Club, Diamond Club, FAN Club, STARS/Luminous, and others.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to explain prepaid rates and promotions, including advisor-exclusive amenity programs, aiming to boost revenue through higher commissions while prioritizing the best value option for the client.
- Must have strong geographical knowledge and stay current on evolving travel regulations, including restrictions and entry requirements.
- Must have basic knowledge of travel insurance options like Travelex, RoamRight, and Travel Guard, and quote policies based on client needs (trip cost, destination, stay duration, risks). The advisor can lean on our insurance desk for detailed coverage explanations, ensuring clients feel informed and confident.
- Create a working relationship with clients, empathize with their needs, and develop an effective approach to their travel planning style.
- Build a collaborative, respectful partnership with hotel and onsite partners, always prioritizing your role as an advocate for our clients.
- Maintain a strong passion for details and organization, with a deep appreciation for consistent standard operating procedures.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
- Attend weekly marketing meetings to brainstorm marketing ideas and target campaigns, building an active pipeline of new sales prospects.
- Maintain consistency in daily tasks and align with our company’s voice and branding.
Skill-set:
- Must be meticulously detail-oriented, adept at managing complex trip planning subtasks, ensuring a successful luxury travel experience that fosters client loyalty and referrals to other luxury travelers.
- Must possess extensive knowledge of various travel destinations and luxury hotels to confidently compare and recommend options based on seasonality and client preferences, including budget, stay duration, and occupancy.
- Must demonstrate complete comfort and confidence in charging fees, skillfully explaining the value of our services to clients, handling any objections with professionalism, and ensuring transparency to maintain trust and satisfaction throughout the process.
- Eager to develop deep expertise in using our internal systems and technology.
- Requires creative problem solving; learning how to best leverage resources to optimize internal processes.
- Capable of self-managing to work quickly and efficiently, and multitask effectively.
- Must be receptive to on-the-job training and comfortable with online learning platforms.
- Knowledge of Apple software, Gmail, Asana, Slack, Axus, and Evernote. Pipedrive is an added bonus.
- Familiarity with TripSuite and hotel exclusive advisor online booking platforms (Virtuoso, Preferred Partner, etc), as well as Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Sabre, is not required but highly valued.
- Experience with HTML or similar computer coding languages is not required, but a good indicator that the candidate will become quickly adept with Sabre (GDS) training on the job.
- Capable of flexibly adapting to changing remote work environments, such as shifts in technology, communication tools, team dynamics, or project priorities, while maintaining productivity and collaboration across virtual platforms.
- Drive to build strong working relationships with team members, empathize with their needs, and develop an effective approach to sales support for the team, while effectively communicating and becoming a valuable resource within a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree, at a minimum.
- Must possess extensive prior experience in luxury travel sales, with a focus on high-end client service and sales within the luxury travel industry.
- Must be goal-driven and thrive in sales, excel in email and phone communication, manage tasks effectively.
- Must be at ease with, experienced in, and confident in communicating in a remote work environment, primarily using Slack and Gmail.
- Must have a passion for travel and an appreciation for global culture and diversity.
- Must be able to travel at least twice annually for our team meeting and host agency conference.
- Top candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, proficiency in remote communication, task management software, and database management, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
