What is the Senior DevOps Engineer role?
Biofourmis is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Full-Time hybrid position) to join our rapidly growing team. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop infrastructure solutions that ensure scalability, high availability, and cost-efficiency for our cloud-based services. Your work will directly impact the deployment, monitoring, and security of our critical healthcare software infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:
Work in a small team of senior DevOps engineers responsible for Infrastructure design and development;
Build and manage our cloud infrastructure for scalability, high availability and cost-efficiency;
Create infrastructure-as-code deployments on Kubernetes clusters, ensuring the service can be deployed to multiple environments (Staging, Test, Production) in a fully automated manner (Continuous Deployment done using AWS CDK);
Proven experience in AWS microservices and serverless deployments;
Build and maintain efficientCI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD and in AWS)
Build and manage monitoring and alerting flows, ensure general observability metrics and maintainability of all our critical services;
Implement disaster recovery and backup/restore framework;
Strengthen the AWS infrastructure security by managing AWS WAF, KMS keys, Secrets Manager, SSL/TLS certificates, IAM, CloudTrail logs and more.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field;
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer;
3 years+ DevOps experience, with proven expertise on the operational aspects of delivering and maintaining a cloud-deployed SaaS application;

Self-motivated with a proactive, "go-getter" mentality;
Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures for product and solution development and deployment at scale;
Experience with user authentication and authorization technologies and general security practices (definitely a plus, familiarity with any of JWT, Oauth, Open Policy Agent, IAM Roles);
Documentation of Cloud infrastructure and associated processes.
Technologies Required:
Solid knowledge of networking and container technologies, especially as related to Docker and Kubernetes - detailed familiarity with major Internet protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP and IP routing;
Strong experience with AWS, its services and best practices (e.g. EKS, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Route53 and CloudWatch)
Solid Expertise with at least one of CloudFormation or Hashicorp Terraform.
Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana and Loki
Bonus Points for:
Familiar with AWS Solution Constructs (CDK, Cloud Development Kit), even better if in Java/Python;
Expertise in creating Oauth services; and general familiarity in the authentication/authorization space (ACLs, RBAC, etc.)
Proven experience in AWS microservices and serverless deployment
Understanding of core security concepts (OWASP Top 10)
Work experience in the healthcare space and familiarity with HIPAA regulations (at least, as it pertains to ingestion, processing, storage and serving of patient data)
