For our business partner in the Energy & Electric industry, we are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Control Engineer. You will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team of highly skilled engineers working on the development of new, efficient solutions for integrating renewables, providing energy storage, improving power quality, and enabling green transportation & eMobility solutions. Your main focus will be on the development and implementation of digital closed-loop control systems for new Power Electronic converter platforms, pushing technology boundaries in efficiency, size, and operational performance.
You will be working in a creative environment that allows you to utilize your knowledge and skills in technology and product development to identify and implement innovative solutions for a new Product Platform. Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will also collaborate with global R&D teams to drive advancements in converter design and validation.
Requirements
Be part of the design process from idea generation and simulation to circuit design, control system development, prototyping, and verification of converter products.
Lead the development and implementation of digital closed-loop control systems for new Power Electronic converter platforms.
Model and simulate converters, selecting optimal control strategies for various topologies.
Develop hardware control circuits and establish system limits for control applications.
Validate control strategies through proof-of-concept and functional prototype testing, setting up appropriate test systems.
Support a fast, iterative design process in a cross-functional, dedicated team.
Use fast prototyping and lab mockups to accelerate learning and achieve results quickly.
Work in modern laboratories, bringing up prototypes, and evaluating design limits.
YOU NEED
BSc/MSc/PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in applying modern control theory to Power Electronics applications.
Experience with simulation tools such as PSCAD, Spice, SIMetrix, Simulink, or PLECS.
Practical knowledge of implementing digital control systems for Power Electronics converters (based on DSP & FPGAs) and test systems using LabView, signal generators, and data acquisition equipment.
Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, converter prototyping, and testing.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety guidelines.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English, as this role is part of a global business environment.
