POSITION SUMMARY The Distribution Specialist is responsible for the packing and accurately splitting of payroll packages for delivery. Performs a variety of packout and routine shipping and receiving tasks. Compares identifying information on incoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers Resolving client concerns relating to payroll related questions and systems issues
• Responsible for pack out of client payrolls and reports; quarterly and yearly tax packages
• Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery
• Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
• Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items
• Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents • Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
• Assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; keeping pack-out area organized and neat • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and control standards
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to prepare routine paperwork
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate parties
• Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures
• Excellent communication skills • Ability to work under pressure and able to meet deadlines
