Position Summary
Destiny Rescue is an international, Christian-based, non-profit organization that’s dedicated to rescuing children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking and helping them stay free. Our vision is to play a leading role in ending the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children in our lifetime. We have rescued over 18,000 victims from sexual abuse, have grown our rescues by about 30% per year, and pray we will rescue 100,000 victims in the next ten years.
This role has been created to lead the technology team and drive the digital transformation that will enable our non-profit organization to expand its impact globally. It will oversee the development and implementation of technology that supports our programs, enhances operational efficiency, and enables data-driven decision-making across departments.
The Director of Technology plays a vital part in carrying out the mission of Destiny Rescue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the organization’s mission, operational efficiency, and digital engagement.
- Lead the technology team, providing vision, mentorship, and development opportunities to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Oversee the assessment and adoption of new technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and sustainability.
- Implement digital transformation initiatives that enhance our program delivery, improve service quality, and streamline internal processes.
- Lead the design and deployment of technology solutions that improve access to our resources, enable remote engagement, and support field-based teams.
- Foster a data-driven culture by developing tools and frameworks for data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of digital infrastructure, including cloud systems, software platforms, and data storage solutions.
- Implement best practices in cybersecurity and back-office processes to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support field operations, donor engagement, and program management technology needs.
- Work closely with executive leadership to communicate technology vision and define priorities, aligning them with organizational goals.
- Partner with program teams to understand needs on the ground, ensuring that technology solutions are practical, accessible, and impactful.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and external partners, negotiate contracts, and evaluate performance to maximize value.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of technology projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Develop and manage the annual technology budget, tracking expenditures and optimizing resource allocation for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for technology initiatives and report on outcomes, impact, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skill and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in technology leadership, ideally within the non-profit or social impact sector.
- Proven track record of driving digital transformation and managing complex technology initiatives.
- Strong experience in project management, vendor negotiations, and budget management.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level, including the following applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to operate Google Drive applications at a basic level, including the following applications: Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, and Slides.
Necessary Training/Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
