SUMMARY
The Perioperative Registered Charge Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for the patient in the surgical suite. The Perioperative RN demonstrates competence in the planning of care for the patient throughout the perioperative process. The Perioperative RN participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other disciplines in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the operating room setting through the use of evidence based medical practices.
