As a member of the Customer & Member Services Operations team, the Membership Administrator I establishes and maintains eligibility, bills premium, reconciles cash, pursues aged accounts and provides eligibility and billing related customer service for Individual, Group, Government Programs, Cobra and Flexible Spending business – all in service of creating an economically sustainable health care system.

Qualifications:
The Membership Administrator I would have a High School diploma or GED and one year accounts receivable or customer billing experience or an equivalent combination of education and job-related work experience.
Skills and Attributes:
- 30 wpm with 95% accuracy typing skills.
- 10-key by touch (8500 keystrokes per hour with 95% accuracy preferred).
- PC experience – Word, Excel and Outlook – or comparable software – and ability to learn and use complex systems.
- Strong math skills (mathematical calculations and concepts), judgment and other resources to implement effective problem solving.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Must be dependable and maintain attendance at or above departmental standards.
- Must be able to exercise judgment, initiative and discretion in confidential, mature and sensitive manner.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to establish effective working relationships with staff and customers
What You Will Do at Cambia:
- Process individual and group enrollment applications, calculating waiting-period credit, eligibility data, effective dates, and entering benefits, bank draft, and member information.
- Review, maintain, and update individual and group accounts, including changes to effective dates, additions or deletions of members, and other updates.
- Provide customer service to internal and external customers, responding to phone inquiries, and making necessary corrections or adjustments.
- Perform eligibility and reconciliation tasks accurately and timely, adhering to established procedures and identifying discrepancies.
- Generate and review group or individual billings, ensuring accuracy before distributing.
- Order and audit member cards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate logos, lines of business, and other requirements.
- Apply corporate underwriting and governmental guidelines and policies in eligibility processing, and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Meet established departmental performance expectations, including cash processing, aged account management, and quality standards.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including phone coverage, mail, filing, and special projects, and participate in training and staff meetings.
The expected hiring range for a Membership Administrator is $17.75 - $20.60/hour depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history. The bonus target for this position is 5%. The current full salary range for this role is $17.75 - $26.80/hour.
