Registered EEG Monitor Technician

Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technicians use specialized equipment and processes to monitor a patient’s nervous system activity. They set up, perform, and monitor EEG tests which record the electrical activity of a patient’s brain over time. EEG Technicians work under the supervision of epileptologists, neurologists, or other doctors.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 3:00PM – 11:30PM.

Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity in order to place electrodes precisely and to operate recording equipment.
- Ability to push and maneuver EEG machine weighing 320 pounds.
- Requires normal or corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease and body fluids.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
