Registered Nurse (RN) - System Flex Pool - PRN at Norman Regional Health System summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the System Flex Pool is responsible for providing exceptional patient care across multiple medical and intensive care units while floating between two campuses. This role requires a collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate total patient care and adapt to various departmental needs. A minimum of a Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing is necessary, along with a valid Oklahoma RN license and relevant certifications.
Overview:
Compensation
- $52/hr.
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
The Flex Pool is made up of an adaptable and dynamic team of employees that is able to work in multiple service lines at both HealthPlex and Porter campuses. These include both medical and cardiac intensive care units, medical and cardiac step down units, Med/Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, and post-surgical units as well as the occasional special assignment that may include procedural areas. The Flex Pool is dedicated to providing exceptional care when and where needed throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises nursing care, and in collaboration with the physician, coordinates total patient care for patients by leading and directing an interdisciplinary care teams from Intensive Care level units to Med/Surg level units.
- Floats from one unit to another as requested.
- Flex between Porter and HealthPlex campuses.
- Departments include: Cardiac, Med/Surg, Tele, Step Down, Ortho, Oncology, Overflow/COVID and other departments as required.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- 1 year Med/Surg experience (may accept a combination of RN and LPN).
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training is required within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
