Job Description:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) delivers procedural anesthesia care as part of a team under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. As part of this team, the CRNA is expected to engage in accurate, ongoing patient assessments, communicate with members of the healthcare team, use resources efficiently to deliver optimal care and document care thoroughly in the appropriate records. Administers general, regional anesthetics or Monitored Anesthesia Care during surgical and/or obstetrical procedures under the medical direction of an attending Anesthesiologist. Evaluates situations and informs attending Anesthesiologist of patient's condition; recommends anesthetics to be used; techniques of administration and supportive measures necessary for approval by attending physician as required by departmental guidelines. Checks anesthesia machine and monitoring equipment, supplies, medication, and anesthesia gases. Monitors and records the patient's vital signs, records all medication administered to the patient and related reaction and responses.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Bachelor s Degree: Nursing (Required)
Master s degree: Nursing (Preferred)
Experience:
1 Year experience in critical care nursing as part of successful completion of CRNA program (Required)
2 Years experience in an academic medical center OR as a CRNA. (Preferred)
