RN-Registered Nurse-BHU at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital summary:
The RN-Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) provides comprehensive patient care in alignment with nursing standards. This role includes supervising and teaching nursing staff, as well as ensuring adherence to critical care practices. Candidates must hold current nursing licensure in Kentucky or possess multistate compact status and demonstrate effective communication and critical thinking skills.
Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Supervises, teaches, and delegates to other personnel in the performance of activities related to nursing care.
Required LicensesRegistered Nurse
Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a Current Registered Nurse Licensure with a multistate compact status.
Minimum Work ExperienceOne (1) year experience in a behavioral health care setting preferred.
Required SkillsCertifications:• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within three months from date of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
