About the Role:
As the Editor, The CMO Club you will be a key player in driving organic traffic growth for thecmo.comsite. Owning the creation of useful SEO optimized content, and injecting it with expertise from the external subject matter experts you will collaborate with to create high quality articles - with the aim to make your site the go-to resource for career development insights, how-to guides, and helpful software reviews.

You are a guardian for content with purpose, ensuring the content that's prioritized and published is the content that will most effectively support your publication’s goals.
Your finger is on the pulse of the performance of your most valuable pages—you frequently review SERP and use performance data to analyze the content, take action to recover lost traffic, and iterate strategically to support its ranking at the top of SERP.
You cultivate positive relationships with influential SMEs, sourcing the best contributors and software experts. You build a strong contributor pool, enabling you to assign, edit, and scale production while maintaining quality. You continuously seek out opportunities to infuse content with useful SME insights, prioritizing the pages with the most visibility and impact on your publication goals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Make High-Quality Content That Ranks - Assign, edit, write, and publish exceptional, expert-driven content that captivates audiences, ranks at the top of search results, builds meaningful traffic around high-priority topic areas, and establishes your site as a trusted authority.
Maintain & Maximize Content Performance - Transform good content into great content by keeping it fresh, relevant, and better than the competition. Upgrade content, continuously optimizing through collaborative testing with the SEO team in order to drive traffic, clicks on inventory, and audience subscription.
Elevate Content With SME Insight - Continuously infuse content with SME insights—firsthand stories, data points from studies and surveys, inside jokes, and well-informed opinions. Craft content that's deeply insightful and original, making dry and serious "work" topics fun, engaging and human.
How Your Success Will Be Measured:
Organic Traffic: # users visiting content you've produced
Article Performance: # ranking in positions 1-3 for target keyword
Output: # of new content and upgrades you've published
Your Skillset Includes:
Proven experience in content creation and editingStrong understanding of SEO principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong collaboration and team-working skills

This full timeposition is available as either a 100% remote or optionally hybrid position if within a commutable distance from our office. The role offers an an annual salary in the range of $60,000 to $80,000 CAD. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. This means ranges will vary for candidates based outside of Canada and/or at different seniority levels. In addition to annual salary, full time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
