Job Description:
The successful applicant will work as part of a team responsible for analyzing health plan costs and utilization trends, quality of care (process and outcomes measures), efficiency and practice pattern variation, and other relevant performance metrics. The position will also provide statistical support to general R&D and Medical Affairs projects as needed.
This professional can work in a 100% remote capacity and must be located in the US.
Analyze health plan performance in terms of costs and clinical effectiveness versus benchmarks
Develops methods for consistency and validity checking to assure accurate results
Maintains data management process documentation as part of routine QA.
Write analysis plans and portions of methods and results sections for manuscripts and reports
Contribute to improved report design by working with users to identify reporting needs
Gather and prepare data for analysis by others
Prepare timely, accurate ad hoc reports and updates to periodic reports.
Required Work Experience:
2+ years of business experience
Master's degree in statistics or biostatistics.
Experience with basic statistical procedures including chi-square tests, t-tests, generalized linear models
Experience analyzing data, ideally healthcare claims data or health outcome data
Preferred Work Experience:
Familiarity with common database structures and query languages such as SQL, SAS, and/or other similar analytical programs
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Knowledge:
Understands the concepts of non-parametric statistics, model selections, survival analysis
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Proficient in either R or SAS, both preferred
