The Pediatric - Critical Care Medicine Physician provides critical care services in a Level III Trauma Center within a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Responsibilities include managing admissions, consulting with families and physicians, and ensuring effective patient transfers while maintaining a balanced work schedule. This position requires board certification in Pediatrics and completion of a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship.

Our client in Florence County, SC is in need of a Critical Care Pediatrician for a full-time assignment!

Job details:

Start Date: ASAP
Desired start date is no later than January 1, 2025.
Reason for opening: Attrition
Schedule includes 7 days on, 7 days off. Possibly flexible according to the arrangement between the Medical Director and Staff Physician.
Shifts consist of 24-hour rounding plus call from home.
Call will be shared with another Intensivist.
7.6 shifts per month is full-time, 5.5 shifts per month minimum for benefit-eligible.
Practice setting includes inpatient care and rounds.

Admissions and patient management
Consultation with families and referring physicians
Working with local physicians/facilities on successfully accepting transfers into the hospital/unit
Documentation system/EMR details to be discussed with the Medical Director.

Job Requirements:

Board Certified in Pediatrics - REQUIRED
TRULY Board Eligible (new grads/those in last year of fellowship working to become BC within 5 years) or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care - REQUIRED
Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship (to be completed prior to start) - REQUIRED
SC License (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
PALS, ATLS (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
DEA (or able to obtain) - REQUIRED
Clean malpractice and license record - PREFERRED
