Job Description

The Program Support Clerk performs the registration of incoming clients into Saint Francis Ministries programs. The Intake Specialist will be responsible for the collection, entry and verification of client demographics, third party payer sources and insurance eligibility, referral and authorization assistance into our Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management Systems (PMS).

Initiate and gather required demographic, assigned program and case information and other required data for intake into Saint Francis Ministries programs.
Enter intake, program and case information, and demographic information into the Electronic Health Records while ensuring information provided is accurate and timely.
Enter third party payer sources such as insurance, grant and/or contract partners in the correct sequence of reimbursement as applicable.
Contact third party payer sources as necessary for verification of information and eligibility confirmation.
Contact clients as necessary for verification and/or gathering of missing information.
Perform insurance verification and eligibility at intake and as applicable throughout the client’s participation in the program(s)
Collaborate and support billing staff to ensure proper billing.
Collaborate and support program and clinical staff to ensure clients approval and participation in program(s) are up to date.
Assist with gathering, inputting and management of client referral and authorization processes.
Maintain list of contact and referral sources
Assist with Release of Information requests.
Upload and/or scan supporting and required documentation for program intake, referrals, authorizations, identification and insurance cards into the electronic health records document management system.
Prepare or provide data and reports as applicable.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two years related experience in a healthcare setting, behavioral health preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must pass a drug screen, MVR, and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry clearance check.
Lifting Requirements of 30-50 lbs.
