We are seeking a Cancer Registrar to join our team. In this role, you will analyze electronic medical records and extract clinical, pathological, therapeutic, and epidemiologic data in accordance with established oncology data collection practices and standards.

Responsibilities:Gather, review, and maintain appropriate and accurate documentation of all cancer patients diagnosed and treated
Collect, maintain, and update Cancer Registry follow-up information for the duration of the patient's life and conducts statistical analyses related to collected data
Ensure that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames
Mentor and foster a constructive teaching environment that helps students and new registrars build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities
Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones and retrieving, entering, and revising patient electronic health records (EHR)
Prepares and completes accurate documentation related to patients and procedures
Coordinates tumor boards, including collecting imaging and pathology cases scheduled to be presented, and maintaining AV equipment for meetings

Requirements:Maintain the strictest confidence of all patient PHI and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure
CTR - Certified Tumor Registrar
Knowledge of cancer, cancer staging mechanisms, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, American College of Surgeons FORDS Manual, and SEER Multiple Primary & Histology Manual
Understanding of the cancer disease process, including tumor nomenclature, medical terminology, medical procedures, anatomy, and physiology.
General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, CNExT cancer data collection, EHR, and EPIC
