Expected salary range of $70,200 to $78,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
This position can be filled as a Lab Tech I, Lab Tech II, or Lab Tech III
Primary Purpose of Position
Lab Tech I:
Responsible for performing basic equipment calibration, testing, and analysis using recognized methodologies and industry standards under direct support of the Lab Tech team. This is an entry level position for developing equipment calibration and component testing technicians.
Lab Tech II:
Responsible for performing all levels of equipment calibrations and/or testing and analysis using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical experience.
Lab Tech III:
Responsible for developing and performing all levels of equipment calibrations, testing, and analysis using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical experience. This position is also responsible for providing technical support, mentoring, and training of Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II technicians.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
All Levels:
- Setup and perform basic calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.
- Produce accurate test reports of calibrations and testing and verifies acceptability of results as required in the Constellation PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual.
- Support or perform customer onsite calibrations or testing that may involve regional travel.
- Maintains and calibrates testing and analytical equipment.
Lab Tech II: (in addition to above)
- Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects and calibrations.
- Process vendor calibrations and conducts vendor source verifications for testing and calibration.
- Perform corrective / routine maintenance and/or repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment.
Lab Tech III: (in addition to above)
- Develop processes for and perform complex calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.
- Plan, support, and perform customer onsite calibrations and testing that may involve regional travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Lab Tech I:
- High School degree
- Demonstrated aptitude for science, technology, engineering, and math.
- Ability to gain access to Constellation Nuclear Stations
Lab Tech II and Lab Tech III: (starting position based on experience or level of degree)
- Associates degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL training (no experience required), or a high school degree plus four years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated aptitude in: chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles
- Ability to gain unescorted access to Constellation Nuclear Stations
- Good oral and written communication skills
Pay and level of position is based on experience between $22.00-$45.00/hour.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
All Levels:
- Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience
- Metrology or related VoTech education
Lab Tech II and Lab Tech III (starting position based on experience or level of degree)
- Metrology or related education via VoTech, military or associate degree in technical area
