Summary
- PENN E-LERT®, a state-of-the-art electronic intensive care unit (eICU), is seeking Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with three or more years critical care experience. This is an in-person position - the eAPP will be based at the Penn Medicine Rittenhouse Campus located at 18th and South Streets in Philadelphia (no remote work option). E-LERT monitors remotely connect to all ICU beds in the Penn Medicine network. Full-time and part-time candidates will be considered. This is a 24/7 position with nights, weekends and holidays required.
- The eAPP joins a group of expert tele-Intensivists, APPs, Nurses, and Respiratory therapists also rotating in the PENN ICU system. The APP may have the potential to spend some of their time working at the bedside within one of the HUP ICU teams.
Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioners (NP): Must have an active RN license in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, along with an MSN or DNP. Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is required.
Education
- Master's degree required Nurse Practitioners.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in critical care as an NP.
Credentials
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for acute care providers.
- Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner license required.
- Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority required.
- NPs must have PA RN licensure and National Board Certification.
- Credentialing through the Credentials Committee and approval by the Medical Board are mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong decision-making skills, systems thinking, and proficiency with technology, including remote two-way video communication.
- In-depth understanding of multidisciplinary critical care environments, including operations in neuro, trauma, surgical, medical, and cardiovascular ICUs.
- Participation in quality improvement (QI) initiatives with the PENN core team is required.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and collaborative within tele-ICU and bedside teams.
Physical Requirements
- Visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods.
