Position Title: Permitting Coordinator
Position Reports to (Title): Product Development Project Manager
Direct Reports to Positions (Title): None
Typical FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Overview:
Provide administrative support for the permitting efforts of Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes for the Orlando Metro area working a minimum of 2 days in the local office and 3 days from home, however, additional days may be required in the office due to job responsibilities.
Major Functional Responsibilities
Permitting for Orlando and Starlight Homes
Filing and Scanning associated with Permitting
System maintenance data entry
Budget verification utilizing internal systems for check requests
Organizational skills
Assembly of Start packages
Key Duties:
Coordinate plan changes, expired permits, and permit rejections
Energy calculations tracking and updating for permitting
Truss engineering tracking and updating for permitting
Plot plan tracking and updating for permitting
Working drawings tracking and updating for permitting
Check requests tracking and updating for permitting
Coordination of homeowner selections to working drawings for new starts
Coordination and tracking of permit packages for Florida communities
Utility Setup for Communities
HOA Approval Submissions
Impact Fee payments timing and tracking
Coordination with third party permit runners
Permit package assembly
Product Approvals Document Assembly and Updating
Attendance and participation in team meetings via video conference or in person.
Driving to and meeting with municipalities permitting departments
Other duties as assigned
Desired Candidate Qualifications:
Highly organized and detail oriented
Self-motivated is a must
Computer literacy required working with Excel, Word, E-mail, and Databases
Fast paced work pace with high accuracy a must
Ability to react to frequent changes in priorities
Experience with plans examiners with a municipality is helpful but not necessary.
Experience interacting with Engineers, Architects, and Subcontractors is helpful but not necessary.
Typical Physical and Mental Demands Of The Role:
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all office equipment.
Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment.
Work from Home will be available as a part of this role with some days each week required in the office in Lake Mary
Requires occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
