What you can do for Expel
- Develop, write, and edit technical marketing content including thought leadership and how-to blogs, threat reports, data sheets, and more to drive awareness and demonstrate thought leadership
- Interview security experts from across the business and translate their messages and ideas into compelling content pieces for primarily technical (but occasionally non-technical) audiences
- Work cross-functionally with security, engineering, product, product marketing, and other teams to ensure messages are well represented
- Make sure content is SEO-friendly as applicable and adheres to in-house style guide
What you should bring with you
- A passion for writing, specifically around technical topics
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts at a technical level, with work experience in the cybersecurity industry
- Ability to absorb complex information through interviews, raw data, etc. and synthesize to create clear and compelling communications
- Strong prioritization, planning, and project management skills to meet deadlines
- A portfolio you are proud of
- 8+ years of B2B enterprise tech writing experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or a compelling story
Additional notes
Pay range: $106,100 - $153,00 + bonus eligibility and equity.
We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.
Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia, however our team is mostly remote, and we have full support for remote interaction. We realize that while there is benefit to in-person interaction, good people don’t all live in Northern Virginia.
