Project Specific Responsibilities:

Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and manage Unix/Linux servers and software using package management tools like APT and RPM

Monitor system performance and maintain detailed documentation

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues to ensure system uptime and reliability

Plan, implement, and manage backup, recovery, and failover processes to ensure business continuity
-
Apply security updates, configure firewalls (e.g., iptables, firewalld), and collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities
-
Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies to maintain system integrity.

Set up and manage network interfaces, routing configurations, and VLANs

Create and maintain manual and automated scripts for monitoring, routine tasks, and system changes

Provide technical support to users, assisting the helpdesk team with issue resolution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and support

This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime

Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule

Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Colorado Springs, CO, and be prepared to work onsite at the customer's discretion

Onsite presence is required during the transition period and as needed thereafter

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience working as a system admin on Unix/Linux systems,related experience is acceptable

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
